The Two Mile House team that travelled to Suncroft for round two of the Hotel Keadeen division two, included brothers, Browne, Niall/Donal, Burke, Christopher/William, Kelly, Matthew/Peter, Aidan Casey and Captain Derren Casey.
Suncroft without the services of the Harnett brothers, Anthony Rainbow, Killian Brennan and John Brown, having first use of the hill and the artic wind built up a less than intimidating interval advantage of three points 0-5 to 0-2, four of their scores coming from place kicking midfielder Martin Brennan, the other by full forward Barry Moran from play.
Both of the Two Mile House scores were from play, the first in the 5th minute by the much improved Ian Cox. Niall Brown who was in terrific form kicked the first of his tally of four points.
Suncroft again scored first (a free) in the new half to stretch a lead they would never relinquish to four points.
Tom Kerrigan and Matthew Kelly combined to score a third point for the visitors. Aidan Casey’s first put his side closer still, then in the 44th and 45th minute two in a row from Niall Browne trimmed the deficit to the minimum.
The House were guilty of some poor shooting in the final quarter and of indiscipline for which Athy official Des Coyle brought the leather even closer to the target from where Ciaran Dowling gladly punished the visitors. Although the House rallied to close within a single point, time ran out. Suncroft prevailed on a score line of ten points to nine points.
Midfielders from Two Mile House Niall Browne and William Burke and Sun croft’s Trevor Moran and Martin Brennan did Trojan work for their sides, as did Derren Casey, Stuart White and Oisin Keogh Clarke of Two Mile House and Suncroft’s Johnny Corr and Eamon Tyrell and Tommy Robottom were like minded.

TwoMileHouse GAA V Raheens 29-03-10
Match Report
TwoMileHouse played the best football as they triumphed over Raheens in the opening game of the Keadeen Hotel division two league played on a calm March sunny Sunday afternoon in a resplendent TwoMileHouse GAA sports field before a large crowd.
Early points for visitors Ross McMahon(a free), Noel Byrne, Cathal Carr and Pat Courtney (from play) were matched with like scores from Niall Browne getting his side going with a point from play in the seventh minuet followed by 3 points from frees by teammate Aidan Casey.

The homeside never relinquished their lead as they tackled hard and worked for each other on and off the ball, in particular Niall McLoughlin and Peter Kelly at number six and midfielders Niall Browne and William Burke, while up front Donnach Lavelle and Donal Browne were a constant source of distraction for the Raheens defence, despite the sterling resistance offered by Paddy O’Brien, John Taffe and Eddie Coffey. At the end of the first half the score was 1-4 to 0-5 in favour of TwoMileHouse
The new half opened with tit for tat scores and the Grange keeper Willie Clynch brought off two very good saves from Brian Byrne and Ray Whelan. Result of Under 14 League on 18.05.09
A win by double scores in the first round of the under 14 football league for hosts Two Mile House against county town rivals Naas was due mainly to a highly spirited and motivated team performance led by Kildare under 14 development squaddies Mark Sherry, Adam Burke and Christopher Healy. Burke and Sherry in particular got the better of their midfield markers RoaryMcDermott and Dermot Murphy while Christopher Healy tormented the Naas half backs winning and delivering telling passes into the Coady cousins Alan and Dillon, between the three lads they scored 2-11 of the T.M.H. total.
Naas were well in contention leading up to half time, going into the break only 5 points down 1-7 to 1-2 their points coming from their best forward Dean McHolmes, Dean was also fouled in the square and the resulting penalty was executed with a plomb by Dermott Murphy giving House keeper Robert Brazil who otherwise had an excellent game no chance.
Second half goals from Aidan Sherry and Dillon Coady finished the game as a contest. Still Naas kept plugging away as Bill Dardis supplied good ball into John Joyce who scored two excellent points. The final score was 3-11 to 1-7 a deserved victory for Two Mile House. Others to play well were Jack O’Neill, Conor Doyle, Gavin Burke, Conal Murphy and Christopher Julien. For Naas Captain Roary McDermott, John Joyce and Dermott Murphy tried very hard.
Result of T.M.H. V Eadestown Senior Football League Div 2 Round 7.
It’s exactly 10 Kilometres from the football field in Two Mile House to the football field in Eadestown and with 20 minutes to go in Round 7 of Div. 2 league visitors T.M.H were exactly 10 points clear 1.12 to 0.5.
From the car park in Eadestown you can easily survey the warm up routines before braving the elements on a very cold May evening. The House were warming up at the score board end, being well drilled by Declan Mallon while their opposition were diagonally across at the entrance gate corner. Eadestown with Willie Dowling shouting instructions to his team mates were in two rows of 5 and one line of 6 men and the “minor”.
Eadestown without a “manager” or a win in Div. 2 to date looked slightly disengaged and to the untrained eye the betting would be on for the visitors (just above them with 2 points) to continue with their winning sequence. Then again Eadestown were at home and they had the “minor”.
Eadestown opted to play with the wind in the opening half and were it not for the fine mid fielding of House man Niall Browne and the refusal of Willie Dowling @ no 6 to yield to the visitor’s pressure. It was a fairly dour half that ended 0-4 to 0-2 in favour of T.M.H.. The house scores coming from the Browne brothers Niall and Donal from play and Aidan Casey’s 2 points, one from a free. Eadestown scores coming from John Dowling and the hard working Gerry Holmes from play. Things looked ominous for the Hosts but then they had the “minor”.
The “minor” sat alone in the dugout completely unfazed, the only thing he had in common with his older team mates was football.
Five minutes into the second half Two Mile House tacked on two unanswered points from Shay White and Donal Browne’s second of the game to go 4 points up at 0-6 to 0-2. Then an incident that would change the game occurred, T.M.House’s Christopher Burke playing at centre back looked like he was to be the meat in the sandwich between Eadestown Robbie Smith (centre forward) and Alan Casey, Burke some how gathered the leather, slipped out from between the boyos leaving them to meet literally head on. Robbie clearly was unable to continue and was assisted from the field by the good natured Two Mile House Physio Karen Kelly who gave him packs of ice for his swollen eye.
Emmet Bolton Eadestown and Kildare footballer suitable attired with “Kildare Abu” brolly in hand seemed to be orchestrating matters from the side line. All eyes turned to the dug out, send in the minor, this game is far from over he quipped.
The game continued with T.M.H. dominating proceedings, scoring with ease and without reply for the next ten minutes when Matt Kelly’s lob ball from the side line deceived Kieran Mullen in the Eadstown goals to bring the scores to 1-12 to 0-7 it looked like the host team were well and truly beaten.
Not so, a Lazarus like recovery began with ten minutes of ordinary time to go. New man about the Town, Liam Weir playing at full forward linked up well with the “minor” and left full forward Steve Smith all creating havoc around the T.M.H. square, Weir had the ball in the net but the goal was disallowed by referee Declan Peppard as a square ball.
Not in the least phased by this Eadestown came storming back. The Dowling’s, Willie and John linked up with Shane Perry and Steve Smith who’s pass to the “minor” was crisp, as was his kick into the back of the net giving Rob Kennedy no chance. Score 1-12 to 1-7 with seven minutes left in ordinary time.
Screams from the T.M.H. side line from Dave Clancy with instructions for every one to defend fell on deaf ears. At one stage the only one left on the Eadestown defence was keeper Kieran Mullen as they piled on the pressure, another goal was scored by Weir himself, it was a sort of a ground fisted effort but this time it counted. Score 1-12 to 2-7 with four minutes of ordinary time remaining.
The House gathered them selves and worked the ball back down in a sweeping move that yielded a point from left half forward Brian Byrne, Niall Browne won the Eadestown kick out delivered it to Byrne, once more he slotted it over. Score 1-14 to 2-7.
There will be three minutes of added time shouts official Peppard. The move of the game was about to happen, keeper Mullens short kick out finds Willie Dowling who gives it to Gerry Homes,” stand him up” came the shouts from the T.M.H sideline. Holmes drives it up to the right corner, a free is given against T.M.H. its quickly taken by Smith to Weir, the “minor” is alert to this move, Weir popped the ball into his path, he weaves his way past a defender and drives the ball into the top corner of the net, a great goal but alas time runs out and the final score was 1-14 to 3-7. (heart attack football) The house survived by the minimum much to the relief of Dave Clancy and his selectors. “Minor” according to the dictionary means lesser, in this instance it surely means greater, his elder team mates knew his worth and raised their game .
Well done Paudie Ryan you served your Club well tonight.

Sallins V TwoMileHouse – Div. 2 – Senior League – Round 6
Smiles of satisfaction and relief on the TwoMileHouse faces in Sallins on a cold blustery May evening as they acquired their first win and precious points in Round 6 of Div. 2 Senior League
The House bossed Sallins from the outset and went in at the break only 2 points in arrears playing against the wind (0-6 to 0-4) The return of Brian Byrne (wrist injury) at left half forward and the inclusion of county minor William Burke at right half back certainly buoyed the visitors. Both sets of backs were excellent. As a result the goals were never really threatened, instead some fine points scoring from old reliables Jack O’Connell and Niall Herbert of Sallins and Aidan Casey and Rossa Fahey for the House in a tit for tat first 22 minutes, until Sallins stalwart Dalton gave his side the advantage.
The second half saw the House draw level in the 40th minuet then veteran Shay White and novice William Burke combined to kick a point apiece to go two clear, a lead they never relinquished leaving the final score at 10 points to 8 points.
For TwoMileHouse Christopher Burke, Conor Blake and Eoin Morrin had excellent games. Sallins triers were Peter O’Connell and Fergal Swan.
Scorers for TwoMileHouse – Aidan Casey 0-4 (1 free), Rossa Fahey 0-2,
Brian Byrne 0-1, William Burke 0-1, Eoin Morrin 0-1 and Shay White 0-1

TwoMileHouse Minor Results – Div 2
A hungrier, more committed St. Kevin’s got their league prospects back on track following a deserved victory over St. Oliver Plunketts in TwoMileHouse.
This game was played at a fair pace and produced some good passages of play along with a man of the match performance from Tom Barron as the St. Kevin’s no. 6 held control for long periods. The sides were level 4 times in the first half before Plunketts main score getter Cian Bolton kicked his side in front ending the half at 5 points to 4 points.
Two unanswered points in the first 3 minutes of the new half from Luke Reilly and Eoin Linehan pushed St. Kevin’s into the lead, only for Plunketts Brian Murphy to level yet again. Points were exchanged as the game wore on and entering the last five minutes a pointed free by Reilly sealed victory for the visitors – final score 0-8 to 0-9.
For Plunketts Michael Woods, William Burke, Paudie Ryan and Mark Murphy were excellent. The St. Kevins team were well served by Jack Kenny and Eoin Ryan.
TwoMileHouse Results – Under 16 – Div. 3
TwoMileHouse V St. Mochu
TwoMileHouse collected their 3rd set of points by comprehensibly beating the Caragh/Straffan combination of St. Mochu by 6-13 to 0-5 to give themselves a good chance of making the play off stages of the Under 16 Div. 3 League. A goal by Mark Sherry in the first minuet was quickly followed with another from Stephen Fitzharris to leave the score at 2 goals for TwoMileHouse to no score for the visitors after 5 minutes. By half time the House added 5 points to their tally to St. Mochu’s 3 points from their best outfield player Hugh Breen.
In the new half the visitors never got going and were it not for the triers like midfielders Paul Donovan and David Collins, half backs Darren Mulhall and Sean Noonan or their excellent keeper Wayne Heavey, the final score would have been even more. For TwoMileHouse Alex Phelan was excellent scoring 5 points from play, Mark Sherry, Chris Healy, Dan O’Loughlin and Stephen Fitzharris got the goals. Tim Dunleavy and Adam Burke were solid in the backs. Up front Finnian Breen, Nathan Sherry, Cian Roe gave excellent support.
TwoMileHouse Results – Division 2 Senior League – Round 2
On successive weekends TwoMileHouse have leaked goals. Against Grange their rearguard looked alarmingly porous again, as the O’Brien brothers Ed & Gary created endless problems for the full back line.
Four goals in two outings is a worrying statistic for manager Dave Clancy but he preferred to talk up the positives with twelve TwoMileHouse scores to Granges eleven, despite the number of absent players. Grange footballer’s secured success at Murphy Memorial Park with a power packed first half display. Making good use of the strong wind they drove in long ball that resulted in 2-7 to 0-4 at the break. On the restart a Grange attack resulted in a controversial goal when full back Donal Browne was bundled over the line – Referee Tony Donnelly allowed the score to stand. This ignited The House into action as Christopher Burke and Matthew Kelly now controlled midfield, while Aidan Casey operating on the forty took responsibility by kicking 6 points. The House lost Niall Browne in the 37th minuet (cheekbone injury) his replacement Eoin Morrin was in the thick of the action to the end, weighing in with his own score. A TwoMileHouse comeback looked on as Grange hadn’t scored since that 31st minuet goal, but Eamon Roberts long effort helped them across the line for victory. Final Score was 3-8 to 0-12
Scorers for Grange: Gary O’Brien 2-3 (1 goal & 1 peno) Shane Dunne 0-4 (2 frees) & Mark Brennan 0-1.
Scorers for TwoMileHouse: Aidan Casey 0-7 (5 frees), Matt Kelly 0-2, Chris Burke 0-1, Eoin Morrin 0-1 and John Goff 0-1.

Straffans scoring star of the day was
left corner forward Austin Allen who shot 8 points (5 frees) and
was on hand to flic the leather to full forward Niall Farrell
for the only goal of the game.
Both keepers were in good form, first
Straffans Anthony Devanne saved from an Eoin Morrin attempt and
when a penalty was awarded for a foot block, House keeper Kennedy
made a great save from the full forward Farrell. The home
side trailed by 4 points at the mid way break 1-6 to 0-5.

Feile Under 14 – Quarter Final
On a cold and windy Sunday morning in Coniffe Park, Clane Under
14’s proved too strong for a gallant TwoMileHouse team in the
Div. 1 Quarter final. Clane drew first blood when the hardworking
midfielder Tom Cribben sent in a high ball to full forward Divn
Atin who crashed the ball to the net for the first of his 4 goals.
In the eight minuet TwoMileHouse opened their a/c when Christopher
Healy weaved his way through the Clane defence to score their

to leave the sides at 3-3 to 4-6 at the half time break. On the
resumption Clane now playing with the wind, began as they left
off, top scorer Atin got his 4th goal and tapped over 2 points
before Adam Burke scored for TwoMileHouse. Clane finished off
