TwoMileHouse Minor Results – Div 2
A hungrier, more committed St. Kevin’s got their league prospects back on track following a deserved victory over St. Oliver Plunketts in TwoMileHouse.
This game was played at a fair pace and produced some good passages of play along with a man of the match performance from Tom Barron as the St. Kevin’s no. 6 held control for long periods. The sides were level 4 times in the first half before Plunketts main score getter Cian Bolton kicked his side in front ending the half at 5 points to 4 points.
Two unanswered points in the first 3 minutes of the new half from Luke Reilly and Eoin Linehan pushed St. Kevin’s into the lead, only for Plunketts Brian Murphy to level yet again. Points were exchanged as the game wore on and entering the last five minutes a pointed free by Reilly sealed victory for the visitors – final score 0-8 to 0-9.
For Plunketts Michael Woods, William Burke, Paudie Ryan and Mark Murphy were excellent. The St. Kevins team were well served by Jack Kenny and Eoin Ryan.
TwoMileHouse Results – Under 16 – Div. 3
TwoMileHouse V St. Mochu
TwoMileHouse collected their 3rd set of points by comprehensibly beating the Caragh/Straffan combination of St. Mochu by 6-13 to 0-5 to give themselves a good chance of making the play off stages of the Under 16 Div. 3 League. A goal by Mark Sherry in the first minuet was quickly followed with another from Stephen Fitzharris to leave the score at 2 goals for TwoMileHouse to no score for the visitors after 5 minutes. By half time the House added 5 points to their tally to St. Mochu’s 3 points from their best outfield player Hugh Breen.
In the new half the visitors never got going and were it not for the triers like midfielders Paul Donovan and David Collins, half backs Darren Mulhall and Sean Noonan or their excellent keeper Wayne Heavey, the final score would have been even more. For TwoMileHouse Alex Phelan was excellent scoring 5 points from play, Mark Sherry, Chris Healy, Dan O’Loughlin and Stephen Fitzharris got the goals. Tim Dunleavy and Adam Burke were solid in the backs. Up front Finnian Breen, Nathan Sherry, Cian Roe gave excellent support.
