Meet the Captain

Derren Casey is a company director with Casey Trailers.  He is married to Carol Merrins from TwoMileHouse.  Carols family are steeped in the history of our cumman, her Grandfather Joe Rafferty along with his brothers Jimmy(RIP), John and Vinny (RIP) all played with distinction for TwoMileHouse.

Derren won a County Under 14 Championship with Allenwood playing alongside Johnny Doyle.  He has also won many underage titles, playing for his school St. Farnans of Prosperous.  Derrins father Paddy is our present Chairman.

Brief History

The Club was founded in 1887 and was known as TwoMileHouse St. Auxilius GAA Club.  They won their first championship in 1935 but lost the title to Raheens following an objection, apparently one of the TwoMileHouse players had a pony in a gymkhana organised by a cricket club.

In 1980, 5 acres were acquired at Harristown commons to establish a permanent home.  A further 6 acres has recently been seeded for two more playing fields.  The Senior Team currently plays in Div. 2.  It must be said that most of today’s squad have come through our underage system, pioneered by hardworking volunteers like Tony Coyle, John Brady, John Byrne, Donal Coyle and Tony McLoughlin.  To them and to all involved to the present day we say a heartfelt thank you for your ongoing dedication.

Jimmy Connors of Mylerstown TwoMileHouse won an All Ireland Senior Football Championship medal with Kildare in 1919.

TwoMileHouse GAA has been represented on Kildare’s last 3 consecutive Leinster U21 winning teams by Christopher Burke, Shane Darcy & Mauric Colbert.
